Holiday Cottage Description

Rothbury is a very popular destination for walkers and cyclists. Golf, tennis, swimming, art and fly fishing lessons and cycle hire are all available locally.

The cottage itself is above the stables that once housed heaving working horses in this stone built first floor converted granary on a very friendly, small working farm. There is a selection of livestock to get to see during your stay and depending on the time of year you might see lambs, calves, baby geese, hens and more.


  • Lounge: Spacious and comfortable with exposed stone walls, beams and wood burning stove in large feature stone fireplace; patio doors with valley views; open plan with sleeping area at one side.
  • Bedroom area 1: Open plan with spacious lounge; double bed and chair.
  • Kitchen: Good size, well equipped with modern units and breakfast bar; open plan with dining area and Bedroom area 2.
  • Dining area: Open plan with kitchen and bedroom area 2 with compact, dedicated dining area and storage .
  • Bedroom Area 2: Open plan with kitchen and dining area; single bed with shelving in stone walls; fold away single bed.
  • Bathroom with W.C. wash hand basin, bath and electric shower over bath.
  • Wooden Porch at front entrance to store walking boots etc.

Kitchen Equipment

Well equipped open plan kitchen with modern units, microwave, washing machine and freezer.

Linen and Towels

All linen and towels are included in the rent. However, please bring your own cot bedding and beach towels.


Electricity and oil central heating included. Logs for stove included. Gas hob. Electric cooker.

Garden patio and BBQ are situated next to the main farmhouse close by and are shared with with owners. Access to property is via an unadopted country lane and property is approximately half a mile from the main road. Access via the lane should not be a problem for most vehicles (picture can be e-mailed on request if required) As this is a working farm children must be supervised at all times. Sturdy wooden stairs with a hand rail lead to The Granary entrance and care must be taken at all times when entering and leaving the property. Pets to be kept on lead at all times on the farm.
